Helios Charging (“Helios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our websites, access our electric vehicle charging solutions, use our financial modeling tools, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the “Services”).

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through the Services and any related communications. It does not apply to information processed by third parties acting on their own behalf, to data governed by separate written agreements, or to employee data collected in the context of employment with Helios.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Information you provide. This includes contact details (such as name, email address, phone number), account credentials, billing information, investment assumptions you enter into our tools, and any communications you send to us.
  • Information collected automatically. When you use the Services, we may automatically collect device identifiers, IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, usage metrics, session information, charging session telemetry, and other technical data through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.
  • Information from third parties. We may receive business contact information, market data, or credit and risk insights from partners, publicly available sources, or analytics providers to help us operate and improve the Services.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, personalize, and maintain the Services, including charging operations and financial modeling outputs;
  • Process transactions, send invoices, and manage customer accounts;
  • Respond to inquiries, provide customer support, and communicate about updates or policy changes;
  • Conduct research, analytics, and reporting to improve product performance and user experience;
  • Protect against, investigate, and deter fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity; and
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where required by applicable law, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases to process personal information: (i) your consent; (ii) performance of a contract with you; (iii) our legitimate business interests in operating, improving, and securing the Services; and (iv) compliance with legal obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We may share information as follows:

  • Service providers. With trusted vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, analytics, customer support, billing, and security. These providers are contractually required to safeguard your information.
  • Business partners. With channel partners or site hosts when needed to deliver integrated charging solutions or respond to joint customer requests.
  • Legal compliance and protection. To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests, and to protect the rights, property, or safety of Helios, our customers, or others.
  • Corporate transactions. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes without your consent.

6. Text Messages (SMS)

If you choose to sign in or verify your identity with a mobile phone number, we use that number to send you a one-time passcode by text message. You enter the number yourself and consent to receive that message at the moment you request the code.

  • What we send. Account and security messages only, such as one-time passcodes and notices about a charging session you started. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
  • How often. One message is sent per sign-in or verification request. We do not send recurring or scheduled messages.
  • Cost. Message and data rates may apply under your mobile plan. Helios does not charge you for these messages.
  • Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving text messages from us, or reply HELP for help. Opting out does not prevent you from using our charging services; you can sign in by email instead.
  • Delivery. We use a third-party messaging provider to transmit these messages on our behalf. That provider may process your mobile number only as needed to deliver the message you requested, and is not permitted to use it for its own purposes.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from all of the sharing categories described in the section above, and are not shared with any third party other than the messaging provider acting on our behalf to deliver the messages you request.

We retain a mobile phone number provided for sign-in for as long as your account is active, and then delete or de-identify it as described in the Data Retention section below.

7. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use cookies, web beacons, local storage, and similar technologies to provide essential site functionality, remember your preferences, measure performance, and deliver relevant content. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse some or all cookies, but doing so may impact the availability or functionality of certain parts of the Services.

8. Your Choices & Rights

Depending on where you reside, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing activities. You may also have the right to data portability and to withdraw consent where we rely on consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

9. Data Security

We implement technical, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access. However, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, satisfy legal or contractual obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the information and our legal requirements.

11. International Data Transfers

Helios is headquartered in the United States, and we may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the Services, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to jurisdictions that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home country. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice as required. Continued use of the Services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
